In the late 1880s, the only mail route between Palm Beach and Miami was a 68-mile walk along the beach. The carriers who made that run became known as the Barefoot Mailmen — walking barefoot because wet sand holds better than boots. This was frontier Florida. Before roads. Before development. Before any of this coast was what it is now.
Benjamin's wife's family lineage includes one of them. Her family has been on this coastline for generations. His children are the fifth generation born here. The name Barefoot Realty & Investments LLC is a direct nod to that history — to the people who knew this land before it had a market value.
Benjamin became a licensed Florida real estate agent in 2009 and earned his broker license in 2017, when he founded the firm. His roots in Palm Beach County go back to 1985 — his family moved to Wellington when he was in second grade. The local knowledge is not professional context. It is personal history.
The nautical background is not a credential manufactured for a real estate pitch. Benjamin has run technical poling skiffs over South Florida grass flats — the kind of fishing that requires reading bottom color, tidal movement, and current from the push pole. He has owned offshore center consoles and understands what a serious sportfishing family actually needs from a dock, a channel, and an inlet run. His father-in-law keeps a 58-foot Fleming, and Benjamin has run that boat too. The range from eight inches of water on the flats to a 58-foot passagemaker is not accidental — it is the range that matters when evaluating a waterfront property.
